Product Description (ready to use):

The Cyrix 486 Ceramic CPU is a vintage microprocessor from the early 1990s, manufactured using a high-quality ceramic package rather than modern plastic encapsulation. These ceramic CPUs are highly sought after in the precious metal recycling industry because they contain significantly more gold than later plastic CPUs.

The ceramic package features a gold-plated lid (often visible through a window or fully plated), gold-plated pins or leads, and gold bonding wires inside. Additionally, thick-film gold traces on the ceramic substrate add to the total gold yield. For recyclers and refiners, the Cyrix 486 represents an excellent source of recoverable gold from e-waste.
